Our Music Director
Diego Garcia
Diego Garcia performs at all services, leads the choir, facilitates guest artist presentations and oversees all musical expression at the Center. Since 2007, he has served on the Center’s Core Council, participating in projects such as the development of the new church website, power point presentations for service and visioning with the choir. Two of his compositions, “Thank You God” and “Love Is All Around Me Now," are part of regular services.
He was born in the Northern California wine country in 1976. While attending Justin Siena High School in Napa, he discovered his passion for singing and was accepted to San Francisco Conservatory of Music at the age of 17. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in classical voice and a Master’s degree in music. He has twice been awarded the Barry Manilow scholarship. His graduate recital was the first rock concert ever given at the Conservatory of Music.
After completing his conservatory education he apprenticed with Dr. Lynne Morrow as an assistant conductor specializing in pit orchestras. During this time he also completed advanced studies in Big Band arranging with Bennett Friedman. Musical credits include conducting the performances of “West Side Story," “A Little Night Music," “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “They’re Playing Our Song." In addition to his song writing, his original compositions include one musical, the score of the official Sonoma Valley Film Festival trailer (2008), writing script and incidental music for the KSVY Community Awards Night (2005), as well as creating the awarding winning radio show, “Road Dust (Tales from the Human Race)” for KSVY.
He has performed in Moscow, New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, Connecticut and recorded at the Ryman Studios, home of the Grand Ol’ Opry.
Diego feels fortunate to live a creative life. However, his greatest joy is his wife, Sarah. They make their home in the Sonoma Valley, Northern California.
